Singapore Youth Festival 2014 - Distinction

Our 22 young Chinese Dancers have done us proud by achieving Distinction in the Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation 2014.

The title of the dance put up is 梨园俏妞妞 (Translation: Chinese Opera Girls). The dance depicts a group of lovely girls, who display childhood innocence and happiness while practicing at Li Yuan. The dancers pick up different roles in the Chinese Opera, their each and every move displays the charm of Chinese traditional culture.

Well done girls and thank you parents for your support.

CME Card Game (Happy Family)

Jing Shan Primary School will showcase a set of card game similar to Happy Family that was created to encourage pupils to learn about values in a fun and meaningful way.

The game aimed to promote the importance of being socially responsible and considerate citizens. The project was awarded $3000 from the Enhanced Seed Kindness Fund by the Singapore Kindness Movement.

Pupils were given opportunity to display creativity and express their ideas through drawings. The game was piloted with our Primary 1 pupils, as it was important to inculcate the right values into children from a young age.

Date: 11 - 12 April 2014

Venue: Suntec Singapore Hall 401-402

2014 March: International Friendship Day

International Friendship Day was celebrated nationwide on Friday, 4 April 2014. The theme this year was Stories We Share.
One of the main objectives is to create awareness amongst our students that Singapore is a globalised city. In Jing Shan Primary School, we commemorated the event through writing notes of appreciation to friends, folding origami to give to friends, performing songs of international languages  during iBusking and putting on international ethnic costumes on the day of celebration itself.
We ended the celebrations with a concert.  As a closing for the concert, the primary 1 pupils sang It's a Small World beautifully. The school enjoyed the celebrations, especially seeing their peers and teachers in international ethnic costumes.
